London Restaurant

I just finished reading The Birthday Present by Barbara Vine (Ruth Rendell). In it is mentioned the church St. Anne's Footstool. I was intrigued so I looked it up. I found this fascinating blog http://www.tiredoflondontiredoflife.com/ which then had a link to this restaurant. It is in the Westminster area and might be worth looking for.

The Footstool Restaurant

The atmospheric, brick-vaulted restaurant in the crypt of St. John’s provides a wonderful environment to enjoy a meal or glass of wine during the week, before or after the concert.

The Footstool Restaurant is open weekday lunchtimes and on concert evenings only from 5.30pm on weekdays and from an hour and a half before the start of a concert on Saturday, Sunday or public holidays. We offer a pre-concert a la carte menu as well as pre and post buffet supper options. You are advised to book a table for pre-concert a la carte and for the post-concert buffet.

Weekday lunchtimes
On weekdays, the restaurant at St. John’s is open from 10am serving Jing leaf tea, illy coffee and a selection of homemade cakes and for lunch from 11.30am to 3pm. The menu is created using predominantly British produce and seasonal ingredients and changes according to the availability from our network of suppliers. For those with less time to linger over lunch, we offer a light buffet with dishes of the day, and a selection of salads which allow you to make the most of your visit.
